Safe Step 8300 Mag Chloride 50 lb Poly Bag, is the fastest-acting premium ice melter on the market is Safe Step Mag Chloride 8300, which works in extremely cold temperatures. The unique crystal shape provides rapid ice penetration and prevents product from scattering to where you don’t need it, this melts ice to -15 degrees Fahrenheit/-26 degrees Celsius. Safe Step Mag Chloride 8300 is 100 percent magnesium chloride hexahydrate, which means it is gentler on vegetation and concrete when used as directed. Product meets US EPA Safer Product Standards with Safer Choice Logo on product. Use 1/4 cup (2 ounces) per square yard of Safe Step 8300 Mag Chloride and spread evenly, avoiding piling or overspreading. Remove resulting slush. Reapply ice melter as needed. WARNING: All deicers can accelerate surface damage to concrete, since they increase the number of freeze-thaw cycles. Poor quality concrete is especially susceptible to damage. However, the hazards associated with slippery surfaces must be weighed against the potential of surface damage. Use this product only on good quality, air-entrained concrete for cold weather climates. Do not use on concrete that is less than one year old, has exposed aggregate, is precast, stamped, pre-stressed, chipped, cracked, spalled or weathered; or on stone, brick, mortar joints or wood.
